Fear is the great enemy of self-confidence. Fear has always been the greatest enemy of mankind in many ways. It is fear that holds us back more than any other factor. It affects our subconscious mind and sabotages our intentions. I have heard so many people say I could never do that. I would never try that because I would be so afraid that I would fail and look stupid. I would feel so badly if I failed, I couldn't stand it. Nobody wants to look or feel stupid or incompetent, but – trying something and not achieving what you intended is just another way of practicing.
To keep fear away, we must practice positive self-talk. Tell yourself you are fearless, and successful and you will be!
Philosopher Lao Tsu said:
“Be careful what you water your dreams with. Water them with worry and fear and you will produce weeds that choke the life from your dream. Water them with optimism and solutions and you will cultivate success.”
